Här är månadens höjdpunkter:
Swedish pop-duo
1. Blind Lake– Cookie
Best song this month! Gonna listen to this all summer long. And you should too.
2. Har Mar Superstar – It was only dancing (sex)
Norwegian singer songwrtiter in the evergreen school. We land somewhere between Kings Of Convenience and Swedish Tobias Fröberg.
3. Dylan Mondegreen – Every little step
Can’t help sensing a bit Bon Jovi in the vocals. In between his three solo records Erich has played with Neko Case, Crooked Fingers, Azure Ray and Damien Jurado.
4. Erich Bachmann – Carolina
Lead singer from Delta Spirit with his explosive voice.
5. Matthew Logan Vasquez – Personal
7. Givers – Record high, record low
Rufus Wainwright without the Messiah pretensions..
8. Matt Maltese – Studio 6
Irresistable chill-jangle from New Zealand, in the likes of Mac Demarco and Beach Fossils.
9. Zen Mantra – Remember you at all
11-piece folk-indie band with roots in the 60s-70s psychadelic era. Here’s a nice summer sing-a-long.
10. Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros – Free stuff
Budapest-based songwriter-pop.
11. L’aupaire – Rollercoaster girl
First solo album by Canadian Ohbijou front figure. Dreamy DIY sound.
12. Casey Mecija – Gonna gun
Graham Nash! Need I say more?
13. Graham Nash – On this path tonight
New summer single from Swedish bubble gum version of The Knife. And I mean that in a positive way. I love The Knife, Niki & the dove and bubblegum.
14. Niki & The Dove – You want the Sun
London based George Samaras one man dream pop band. It’s a dream.
15. Plastic Flowers – Mary (Del)
Here is Islands. The Canadian band release two albums on may 13. Taste and Should I remain here at sea?
16. Islands – No milk no sugar
Vancouvers Jordan Klassen calls it fairy folk. Beautiful melodic fingerpicking falsetto. The kind of song that makesyou think of a video set by the ocean.
17. Jordan Klassen – No salesman
Another 80s collage video. Best kind of naive synthbased pop.
18. Walla – Love was on your mind
Former S.C.U.M-meber and husband of Peaches Geldof, sounds a bit like Christopher Owens of Girls.
19. Thomas Cohen – Hazy shades
Drangsal is Max Gruber from Berlin. Great new romantic with glimpses of The Cure and Depeche Mode.
20. Drangsal – Allan Allign
Former Wu Lyf singer team up with Dutch artist Ebony Hoorn.
21. LUH – Beneath the concrete
Great tribute to 80s disco and artists like Prince and Earth Wind And Fire. Faaaantastic!
22. Boulevards – Move and shout
