Spring has come to and end, may I present the playlist for the month of May.
Vårens bokslut innehåller välljudande bidrag av Alabama Shakes, Blur, Mew, Cold Mailman, Slow Readers Club, 1987, Urban Cone, Westkust, Passion Pit, Miami Horror, Passenger, Husky, Truls Mörck, The Weepies, Future Island, My Morning Jacket, Tallest Man on Earth, Great Lake Swimmers, Laser & Bas, Mumford & Sons, The Barr Brothers, Ex Cops, Crocodiles och Ryan Adams. Även Killers Brandon Flowers tycker jag har lyckats med en riktigt fin försommarsmakande skiva. Don’t miss out on Daniel Norgrens painfully beautiful Alabursy. And of course lots more. More than 200 excellent songs in the may 2015 playlist.
Here are a few of my favourite picks this month.
1. Tanlines – Pieces
An absoulte must this summer. Four fabulous tracks from the electronic Brooklyn duos latest album Highlights. Don’t miss Bad situation, Slipping away and Invisible ways.
2. Daniel Norgren – Why may I not go out and climb the trees
This may possibly be the most beautiful album you’ll hear this year. From the deepest Swedish forrests.
3. Mew – Satellites
It’s been over 5 years since the last album for one of my favorite bands. Mew is finally back.
4. Lisa Alma – Fine
More brilliance from Denmark.
5. Weeknight – In the dust
Dark electronic shoegaze from New York. Mesmerising.
6. Lord Huron – The World ender
Wild west indie folk. Great atmosphere, you can’t hold yourself from shouting along.
7. Wombats – Emoticons
Indie dance-rock is a bit boring. This Liverpool-band gets my interest back in the genre.
8. SOAK – Sea creatures
Waiting waiting waiting for the debut album by Bridie Monds-Watson from Northern Ireland. Very exciting stuff.
9. Soviet – She talks
80s synth pop guaranteed to make you wanna see those John Hughes-movies once again.
10. The Outdoor Type – Onions and avocados
Absolutely charming Melbourne songwriting.
11. Peter Emas Ungdomsorkester – Kronovägen X
Watch out for this Swedish band in the future.
12. Azure Blue feat. Amanda Mair – A town like Alice
I like Azure Blue and I’ve eagerly been awaiting something new from Amanda Mair, so this 80s slow dance anthem is just great.
13. Vasas Flora och Fauna – Om jag nånsin far till Jakobstad igen
Great stories and melodies on everyday life in Österbotten.
14. Milk Carton Kids – Secrets of the stars
Havent heard this kind of singing and playing since Kings Of Convenience. If you like this listen to The Soft Hills as well.
15. Strange Names – Neighborhood
New waveish pop from Minneapolis.
And here is the playlist again; May 2015
Watch out for the Summer playlist coming soon!
